Contour TRL Resurfacing: A transformative treatment that rewinds the clock, significantly diminishing the appearance of aging skin
Deeper Resurfacing with Contour TRL at The Skin Investment Clinic surrey
As we age, the effects of sun damage and environmental pollutants take their toll on our skin, creating wrinkles and pigment irregularities, especially on our faces. A Laser Peel can be very successful at reducing or eliminating these conditions, and in fact it is the best way to address the problematic lines that occur around the mouth and eyes. Though there are several types of lasers used to perform peels, the Contour TRL is widely regarded as the safest, most effective laser available.
The treatment goes beyond surface-level imperfections to target the deeper signs of aging for a revitalised, refreshed, and youthful appearance.
What is Contour TRL Laser Treatment?
Contour TRL safely removes fine lines and deep wrinkles, including those pesky lines around the lips and eyes.
Performed in our clinic, Contour TRL treatments are custom tailored for you by our practitioner to achieve your desired outcome and expectations for downtime. No other non-surgical technology can turn back time as effectively as Contour TRL.
How does Contour TRL Laser Treatment work?
Contour TRL penetrates deep into the skin, minimising the most stubborn imperfections, such as the appearance of scars, wrinkles, and rough texture, for a vibrant, healthy complexion.
Contour TRL safely removes a layer of skin to a depth determined by our physicians. The depth of treatment will depend on the skin condition, your desired outcome, and expectation for downtime.
Because Contour TRL can affect
tissue with micron precision, your physician can treat your skin with the exact amount of energy needed – no more, no less.
Treating skin with a laser stimulates the growth of new collagen, which improves the skin’s thickness and
resilience. The skin surface will also re-grow with fresh, healthy cells, which will give your skin a younger rejuvenated appearance.
What happens during the treatment?
The treatment area will be cleansed and you’ll wear safety shields to protect your eyes. The provider will position the laser over your skin as a computer-guided scanner moves the laser beam in the designated treatment area. The procedure typically lasts 45-60 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated.
Will it be painful?
The comfort level with a Contour TRL treatment varies from patient to patient and depends on the depth of treatment. Shallow treatments are typically well tolerated with a topical anesthetic. For deeper treatments, your provider may administer a local anesthetic to enhance comfort.
What skin concern does it help with?
- Deep Wrinkles (even in difficult to treat areas like around the mouth and eyes),
- Scars,
- Solar Spots,
- Actinic Ketatoses,
- Poor Skin Tone/Texture
Is there any downtime with Contour TRL?
Around 2 to 4 weeks.
Patients can expect mild redness and swelling similar to a sunburn sensation after a Contour TRL treatment. You may experience redness and a sensation similar to a sunburn immediately following treatment. Swelling may also occur in the treated area.
Redness may persist for 8-12 days, depending on the depth of the peel. Peeling and flaking typically occur within 24 hours following treatment and should naturally shed off.
What is the aftercare?
Do not pick, rub, or forcibly remove any skin during the healing phase, as this may lead to scarring or infection.
Gently washing the skin more frequently will help to promote the peeling process.
Your provider will recommend a gentle cleanser and occlusive barrier to protect and soothe the treated area.
It’s advisable to use these products until the skin has naturally exfoliated.
Avoid direct sun exposure for two months post-treatment. Adhere to all post-care guidelines provided by your practitioner for optimal results.
Once the skin has fully healed and you’re no longer using the occlusive barrier, you may begin to wear make-up.
If you choose to wear makeup, applying sunblock daily is essential. This helps prevent hyperpigmentation triggered by direct or indirect sunlight.
Consistent use of sunblock is advised for up to 3 months after the procedure.

Revealing Tighter, Smoother Skin and more youthful looking skin
Fractional Resurfacing with Profractional Therapy at The Skin Investment Clinic surrey
Sciton’s ProFractional laser treatment is a unique resurfacing technique that focuses on improving the overall quality of the skin. Through targeted treatments that drastically reduce healing time, ProFractional can effectively target textural issues, wrinkles, acne scars, and other imperfections.
What is Profractional Therapy Laser Treatment?
ProFractional Therapy is a quick and comfortable laser procedure with little downtime, used for improving the overall appearance of your skin. This is preformed in our clinic and can be custom tailored to your specific skin conditions and desired outcome.
How does Profractional Therapy Laser Treatment work?
ProFractional uses a tiny laser beam to treat thousands of pinpoint areas of your skin. Because only a fraction of your skin is directly treated with the laser, the surrounding untreated tissue promotes rapid healing. The skin’s wound healing response creates new collagen which adds firmness and resilience to the skin.
What happens during the treatment?
ProFractional delivers highly targeted laser energy into the skin and leaves a portion of tissue intact. Unlike full-field resurfacing techniques that remove the entire surface area of a treatment site, ProFractional creates channels in the skin with more a more narrow diameter.
Before the treatment, the provider will place a topical anaesthetic ointment on the skin for improved comfort to numb the area being treated.
You should feel minimal to no discomfort as he or she gently places the ProFractional handpiece on the skin. After the treatment, most patients will continue to feel warm for an additional 30 to 60 minutes, or a bit longer with deeper treatment levels.
What skin concern does it help with?
Based on an assessment of your skin condition and cosmetic goals, your physician may choose to use ProFractional whenever a combination of resurfacing with minimal downtime is desired. (Wrinkles, Scars, & Sun Damage)
Is there any downtime with Profractional Therapy?
Around 2 days.
After a ProFractional laser treatment, patients can experience up to 2 days of sensitivity to sunlight and/or minor peeling.
What is the aftercare?
It is important to keep the skin consistently moisturised with non-fragranced products for the first 3 days to allow skin to remain soft and pliable.
24 hours later, the skin may feel slightly swollen and/or itchy. This should resolve within 3 to 5 days.
Patients can apply makeup after 24 hours, but should avoid the sun for 4 weeks after treatment.

MicroPeelLaser Treatment to boost radiance and deliver more youthful-looking skin
MicroLaserPeel (MLP): at The Skin Investment Clinic surrey
Wish you could wave a magic wand for flawless skin? Meet MicroLaserPeel, a polishing laser treatment that minimises imperfections on the skin’s surface, such as rough texture, flakes, dullness, large pores, acne and pigmentation. MLP is a slighly more intense version of the NLP.
MicroLaserPeel can be combined with other aesthetic laser treatments for a significant improvement in skin tone, texture and the appearance of wrinkles.
What is MLP?
A MicroLaserPeel removes a very thin layer of skin to improve fine lines, pigmentation, tone, and texture – restoring a more youthful appearance. Gently revitalizing the entire skin surface, a MicroLaserPeel is performed in one of our treatment rooms, and you can return to normal activities quickly. It provides superior results because it can be administered with great precision of depth. The procedure will be tailored to your specific skin conditions and desired outcome.
How does MLP work?
The MicroLaserPeel’s beam is scanned over a treatment area to remove a very thin layer of the skin. Removing the top layer eliminates some of the damaged cells that can give skin a tired, aged look. As the skin heals, fresh cells grow and resurface the treated area. The result is healthier-looking skin, often with reduced wrinkles and improved colour evenness. Patients often say that it looks like their skin went from looking tired to vibrant.
What happens during the MLP treatment
Before treatment your practitioner will apply a topical numbing cream before utilising the MicroLaserPeel device to your skin, which delivers intense laser energy to stimulate new collagen production. This process precisely removes the superficial layer of the skin resulting in healthier, more youthful-looking skin.
What skin concern does it help with?
Mild Wrinkles, Scars, Keratosis, Sun Damage/Freckles, Pigment Irregularities
Is there any downtime with MLP?
Around 3 – 6 days
No matter the intensity of your treatment, patients can expect mild redness and swelling similar to a sunburn sensation and tightness of skin
What is the aftercare?
A gentle cleanser and moisturiser will be recommended to protect and comfort the treated area and should be used until skin has naturally exfoliated.
Stay out of direct sun exposure and wear a high SPF as directed by your practitioner
MicroLaserPeel® may be performed as part of a series approximately 6 months long depending on depth and coverage area of the treatment, as well as the health and integrity of the skin being treated.

General Frequently Asked Questions
What areas of the body can be treated?
The most commonly treated areas are the face and neck. Many other areas such as the chest and hands can also be treated.
Sometimes laser resurfacing treatments are combined with traditional plastic surgery procedures as well additional laser treatments to further improve results. Please discuss your needs and skin goals with your physician.
What happens during the procedure?
Your skin will be cleaned in the treatment area and your eyes will be protected with safety shields. The physician will position the laser over the skin while a computer-guided scanner moves the laser beam in the designated treatment area. Depending on the size of the area being treated, the procedure usually lasts 15-30 mins.
Will it feel uncomfortable?
The comfort level of laser resurfacing treatments varies from patient to patient and depends largely on the depth of treatment. For shallow treatments, the procedure is well tolerated with the use of a topical anaesthetic. For deeper treatments, your physician may administer a nerve block or local anaesthetic.
What should I expect immediately after the treatment?
Immediately following the treatment, you may experience redness and a sensation resembling sunburn. Swelling may also occur in the treated areas. Your physician will advise you on specific after-treatment care recommendations, which may include analgesics and application of an ointment to keep the skin moist.
How long does it take to recover?
Complete healing will depend largely on the depth of treatment. Healing times for shallow treatments are typically 2-4 days before patients resume normal activities.
For deeper treatments, you should discuss realistic expectations for recovery with your physician.
What aftercare do I need?
You may be given skin care products and instructions on how to use them. Your skin will be sensitive to ultra-violet light after the procedure, so you must avoid direct sun exposure until fully healed. It is recommended that you always use some level of sun protection to avoid sun damage and premature aging of your skin.
When should I expect to see results?
Depending on your treatment, the top layer of your skin will re-grow and can be covered with makeup in about 2 days to 1 week, at which time you will see noticeable improvements in your skin’s texture, tone, and wrinkle appearance. Deeper laser treatments also stimulate the growth of new collagen over the next 4 to 6 months. During this time, the skin may show increasing improvements in tightness and resilience.
